How to fix iPhone speaker, microphone and charging

This guide will teach you about how to fix iPhone  speaker, microphone, and charging port. This changing components will solve any issues with the speakerphone and your iPhone not making any sounds. It will solve any issues your iPhone may have with syncing to the computer or charging and it will also fix issues with your microphone.  For demonstration purposes we will use iPhone 3Gs specifically.


You will need the following tools for this repair: a screwdriver, plastic spudger, and a suction cup

Step 1.
Remove the two screws located on the bottom of the iPhone by the charging port.

Step 2.
Use the suction cup to gently pry the iPhone screen away from the housing. Make sure not to rip the screen out as this could damage the flex cable connections inside.

Step 3.
While the screen is pried, remove the number 1 and 2 connectors from the motherboard. Lift the number three connector tab with the plastic spudger tool and gently slide the flex cable out. After removing the screen, put it aside, since you will not need it for the rest of the teardown.

Step 4.
Slide the SIM card tray from iPhone

Step 5.
Use your screwdrive to remove the screws holding the board in place. There are a total of 8 screws. Keep in mind the location of the screws for re-assembly. Remove the screw holding the camera in place. Also, remove a screw located under the "do not remove" sticker which is hidden underneath the antenna flex cable.

Step 6.
Slowly lift the motherboard with the spudger tool out of the iPhone housing. Be careful not to damage the metal clip located on the lower right corner of the motherboard.

Step 7.
There are three screws holding the charging port assembly in place. One is underneath the flex cable and two are located on the bottom portion. Remove the charging port assembly and replace it.

Follow these steps in reverse order to re-assemble your iPhone.
